The journal Oil Refining and Petrochemistry (ISSN 0233-5727) has been published by New Technologies Watch Center (NTWC LLC) since late 2024. From 1966 it was previously issued by TsNIITEneftekhim JSC.

The journal is a collection of articles devoted to scientific and technical achievements and advanced production practices, with 12 issues published per year. The materials presented in the journal are intended for researchers, specialists, and managers of enterprises and organizations, as well as staff of scientific and technical information departments in the oil refining, petrochemical, and related industries.

The journal is registered with the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor, Russia); registration certificate series ПИ № ФС77-88557, dated 21 October 2024.

The journal maintains an active record in the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) database of the American Chemical Society.

The journal is included in the official list of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK, Russia) — the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications in which the principal scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Science must be published. Articles in the following specialties are recognized by the Higher Attestation Commission in the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations:

Oil Refining and Petrochemistry is a scientific and technical journal covering the state and prospects of the oil refining and petrochemical industry and its allied sectors, both in Russia and internationally. The journal publishes original research and applied work across the following areas: petroleum processing, petrochemistry, additives and lubricants, automation and equipment, industrial ecology and safety, and the economics and social aspects of the industry.
