Abstract. A comparative analysis of net heat values of fuel obtained using a bomb calorimeter and calculation methods was conducted. All methods are standard and differ in the initial data required for the calculations. Various factors influencing the consistency of results were assessed, including sulfur, water, and hydrogen content. It was found that the greatest discrepancies in the obtained results were observed when using different methods for determining hydrogen content. Along with standard methods for determining the net calorific value, a method based on D.I. Mendeleev’s formula, which involves the use of elemental analysis data, is applicable. It is shown that the methods discussed do not contradict each other, with discrepancies between the data obtained by these methods remaining within the range of 0.43-1.12%.
